Dr. Matthew Lee attended Yale University for his undergraduate studies and majored in Biology. He graduated cum laude.  At Yale, he was a four-year varsity athlete on the Men's Swimming and Diving team and competed in distance freestyle events.  For medical school, he attended Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.  There, he was drawn to Urology because of the variety of patients that Urologists treat as well as its unique balance between surgery and medicine. Dr. Lee then matched to the University of Michigan for Urology residency. He received an excellent surgical training at University of Michigan and was inspired by his mentors to apply into Endourology for fellowship training.  He matched to the Indiana University Endourology Fellowship to train under Dr. Amy Krambeck, a world-renowned Endourologist and one of the highest volume HoLEP surgeons in the world.

Dr. Lee received outstanding training in Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP), Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL), and Ureteroscopy from Dr. Amy Krambeck.  Dr. Krambeck was recruited to Northwestern in 2021 and Dr. Lee had to opportunity to follow and complete his fellowship at Northwestern University with her. He completed over 300 HoLEP surgeries during his fellowship and is highly experienced at performing the surgery. He published multiple papers and presented at multiple national and international conferences during his fellowship.  Dr. Lee was recruited to Ohio State University to join their faculty as an Endourologist in Sept 2022 to start the HoLEP program. He continues to perform HoLEP, PCNL, Ureteroscopy and research. He is the only fellowship trained endourologist in central Ohio to perform HoLEP.  He has performed over 500 HoLEPs so far
